0Despite having played through their Shareware versions dozens of times, I somehow got my wires crossed about how many levels were in each episode of both Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. The title for this video is a reference to a contest that I don't even mention until the next one. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm.. afraid.

Initially released under the "Shareware" distribution model, Wolfenstein 3D is a fast-paced first person shooter game developed by id Software and published by Apogee. Players take on the role of American spy B.J. Blazkowicz as he completes a number of dangerous missions against Nazi Germany during World War II. Due to its critical and commercial success, Wolfenstein 3D is widely considered to be the grandfather of the FPS genre.
The mission was simple: slip behind enemy lines, sabotage a chemical weapons factory, steal their plans, and take out the bastard who gave the orders. You did such a good job that the boys at the top decided to send you right back into the lion's den. The idea that the Nazis would be trying to create an army of undead mutants would sound downright crazy to anyone else. After what you've seen, you know they're capable of almost anything - and you know they must be stopped.
