Aaron Plays Dark Souls: Prepare to Die! - The Weeping Tortured
3One of the big mysteries in the game involves these creepy squid like creatures. After you're killed by Seath, you're sent to this jail cell library and when you escape your cell, the snake men turn on this violently disturbing music which agitates the squid monsters. They attack you of course as the snake men flee, but when you kill the squidlings and head downstairs, you will find two of them weeping in the corner of their spawn room.
If you kill them they will drop two miracles that can only be obtained in this way, but if you leave them they will weep endlessly. I have tried turning off the creepy music and leaving it on, but nothing soothes them. Nothing comforts them. I killed them on my paladin character in her first play, but on subsequent characters I leave them be to weep in fear. It is thought that they are an experiment wrought by Seath and his minions and that they are handmaidens on Gwynevere, but who they are in unknown for sure.
I pity them and leave them to cry in their torment. I cannot bring myself to end their cursed lives, though I know it would be a release.
