Io Spirits is bugged in Ability Draft. All you want to do is place them in slot before the spell you want to break. In this case place them before Tree Grab. After it you have to grab the tree and use spirits. Die while spirit are still flying around you. After respawning you'll get the Tree throw Ability for free without any cooldown. Io spirits can break a lot more spells, not only Tree Grab (Leap, Alchemist stun, Liquid Fire etc.)
