I did some research about the machine that was the first computer I owned: The 1987 Aldi Commodore 64. There's a lot of confusion about the facts surrounding this legendary machine sold by the discounter for 299 Deutsche Mark back in the day. I researched some stuff, remembered other stuff and I hope to clarify some of the myths around it. Does it provide 9V on the user port or not??

Thanks to Marco Gubitzer for the C64C and C64G photos he spontaneously sent.

Thanks to Stefan Vogt for doing the same research a while back and allowing me to use his material.
The English version of his brilliant article is here: https://github.com/ByteProject/ByteProject.github.io/blob/master/_posts/2014-04-19-going8bit.md
The German version was published at Videospielgeschichten here: http://www.videospielgeschichten.com/g8bpart1_3.html

The game "Rescuing Orc" is available from https://www.polyplay.xyz/Commodore-64 in various physical formats or free from the author's site https://www.usebox.net/jjm/rescuing-orc/ .

This video was in no way endorsed or sponsored by Aldi (or anyone else for that matter, except maybe my patrons). I'm just using their logo for explanatory purposes.
