With the introduction of Gauss we got two new interesting weapons. The primary version is the Acceltra, a mastery rank eight automatic rifle that fires explosive projectiles which arm after seven meters worth of flight time.
The weapon presents a sky-high base critical chance of thirty two percent and a fantastic critical multi of two point eight. The main drawback is the low base status chance of only six percent. This would be a larger issue on secondary weapons but for primary weapons we have Hunter Munitions which adds a lot of viability to a crit focused weapon.
The explosions that the Acceltra generates have a guaranteed push-away effect which will make it more difficult to get consistent head-shots. These explosions do more damage than the projectile physically hitting the target but not enough to justify full-on ground shots. The Acceltra shines when you can get your target damaged by both the projectile and explosion.
That said, the build for the Acceltra becomes rather straight forward and I would recommend you pair Hunter Munitions with a bit of viral damage with one ninety mod and one sixty-sixty mod for consistent viral applications.
It should also be said that the ammo efficient is atrocious on it and Carrier is basically a must for any high level content. You can also use a ammo mutation but that's not ideal from my point of view. Ammo pads are also a thing.
Overall I find the Acceltra to be a powerful yet fussy weapon that can deal with most content that Warframe has to offer. It's up to the individual player to decided if her attributes are worth putting-up with all the hassle. From my point of view it's totally worth it and I recommend the weapon!
