Ace Combat 7: The F-4E is a 2k sweeper.

The F-4E is a great 2k plane thanks to it's low CST and high speed. This allows it to be completely kitted out with parts just like the fishbed. The drawback of the F-4E is it's poor mobility, but this is somewhat remedied thanks to it's aforementioned speed. The F-4E is great at hit and run tactics and jousting battles, something which SASM's excel at. A F-4E in 2k rooms decked out with speed parts is nearly invincible, with the exception of EMLs having a chance of taking them out.
This setup is also a hard counter to any pesky Mig-21 user in 2k rooms. The fishbed can't reach the F-4E thanks to it's incredible speed and thus can't really put it's mobility to use against the F-4E. SAAM's tend to work well against this build, but a decent pilot will break the lock by dumping a set of flares before closing the gap and whittling down any Mig user with SASMs. The additional drawback to SAAMs is that you need to keep the lock onto your target which is difficult when it's flying at such high speeds.
If you don't have the F-4E unlocked, the F-16C makes an excellent alternative. It has more acceleration and better mobility. However both it's CST and top speed are lower making it slightly less suited to use as a hit and run craft like the F-4E
