It's time. This is a full playthrough of Ace Combat X on the PPSSPP emulator, maxing the settings and squeezing every drop of performance out of it.

Again, at long last. From the moment I got my rig - or hell, for years before that - I've had this playthrough as an objective. Those who know me know my fondness of this game, perhaps the one I've played the most in my entire life, and thus from the moment I was able to, it was only a matter of time.

Time and optimization, that is. Finding an optimal setup was harder than expected. PPSSPP is a fantastic emulator, no doubt, but it scales down much, much better than it scales up. And despite having a machine more than powerful enough, I couldn't shake constant stuttering issues, visibly dropping frames without reporting so in the FPS counter. As you can probably see, I wasn't able to eliminate them completely (although, awkwardly, the first mission is perhaps the worst performance-wise), but it's now more than up to the standard I wanted.

And thus, I can finally, FINALLY, run a playthrough of a game I love so much. At long last. I hope you enjoy.
