Many settings are hidden in the bios that you can view with the Ctrl + S key
Power the computer on and press F1/F2 once the Acer logo appears to access the BIOS..
Go to the MAIN tab. Press Ctrl+S (Certain BIOS/CMOS features are hidden to prevent accidental changes that can negatively impact system operation.)
A VMD controller should appear. Disable it.
Press F10 to save settings and exit
Next boot will be normal Windows in AHCI mode.
