Go check the software out for yourself using the free trial. It has mammoth type potential of replacing the usual Fraps + Vegas/Premiere combo.
It is most useful for people who do no-edit Let's play series and people which do montages which need to gather a lot of content to then nitpick from. And obviously perfect for people which do tutorials or just if you want to show something on the desktop.
For me rendering times with Vegas takes at least 4 times more than the video I'm actually rendering plus Fraps' ABSURD raw file sizes are just a pain to manage. With this software alone I can record and render ingame footage while keeping a very small raw recording file size and cutting alot of the time it takes to render.
Some facts I've come up with(all i talk about is 10 minutes 1080p 30FPS with my processor - specs on my channel): Rendering times are at most 20% longer than the actual video length you're rendering.
10 minutes with Fraps is about 18-19 GB worth of raw data when with this program it's just 7-8GB of raw recording data that's about a 61% decrease in size for the raw recording file from Fraps to Action!. Also if you render the file with Action! even at the highest bitrate setting the .mp4 file size will just be about 1,7-1,8 GB. That's an incredible 90% difference baring in mind that it renders 4 times faster than any mainstream rendering/editing program. And with the naked eye you won't notice a thing between the two. By that I mean between Vegas+Fraps and Action!
CONS: Vegas does a good job of making the video look good. At 8mbps the Vegas version looks better than the 8mbps Action! version. The size between the two is the same. You need to amp up the bitrate with Action! at at least 12mbps to make it look crisp and good, so the size of the video will obviously increase. I would very much rather wait more for the video to upload than for it to render because I do more with my computer than with my Upload bandwidth and using either Vegas or Action! you can't do much while they process the stuff.
Conclusion: People which I've described in the upper part of this description that would benefit from this piece of miracle software have EVERY ABSOLUTE BLOODY REASON to throw away Fraps and Vegas because it saves you CRAPTONS of time. And time is very important.
