This only works in the PC steam version and playing through either:
Christmas mode,
Christmas mode 2016.

The cause of this is simple, after destroying the pink barrier, the section clear trigger is delayed due to Christmas presents falling down. This gives GV enough time to enter a wormhole and trigger the next section flag at the same time. Because of this, GV falls underneath the platform at the start of section 2.
