AD | Mission in Snowdriftland: 24 Stages - All 576 Snowflakes & all 24 Glitch Pixels (2024 build).
Labelled as #AD as I was given a PC Steam code from tons of bits via Keymailer.

December 2006
A Flash game over on Nintendo UK/Europe popped up, a 2D platformer where you could get to the end of a stage OR if you wanted an extra challenge, collect all 24 snowflakes and then clear the level.
Next to the game screen, it had a game banner to advertise their latest/upcoming products for DS/Wii.
It was a perfect distraction to playthrough day by day before Christmas day where MANY fans like myself got their hands on a Wii System, Wii Sports and Zelda Twilight Princess. Remember, the Wii was out in the UK/European regions early December, not November.
You 2010-kids don't know how big of a deal the Nintendo Wii was, its day one price was £180 in 2006, now they're roughly £20-30 depending on the model.
The Flash game itself was shut down in Jan 2007 then popped back up briefly a few years later in December 2010 to advertise upcoming Wiiware products.
As preservation became more serious, it turns out the original Flash version required online DRM to load up levels, this is bad as there is a possible siituation where the severs could go down and it would make this classic 2006 version unplayable.
This DRM was done for security reasons to prevent it from being pirated on other sites.
Thanks to Nick Robinson's documentary video in 2020 • Mission in Snowdriftland: Nintendo's ... , Steve and his crew worked on a modern build that was powered by the Unity Engine.
This new version is the one that you are watching right now and this version does get updates yearly around December.
The first one was adding mini-bosses that appear after the 6th level of each world.
Secondly, a speedrun timer, although it doesn't track your PBs.
Lastly, in the recent 2024 update, secret areas were added where each level has a hidden type of collectable, a Glitch Pixel. Collect all 24 Glitch Pixels to unlock another bonus level.
This video serves more of a visual guide on collecting all of the items both Snowflakes and Glitch Pixel per run.
It DOES NOT cover the 4 hidden health expansions as they only help the player get through tougher levels rather than unlocking an extra level.
