It's been 6 months since Doc and his family flew away on their Time Train at the end of Back to the Future Part III, and Doc's property is getting sold by the bank! Then the DeLorean shows up in Doc's driveway, driverless and intact despite it's destruction at the end of part III. Doc appears to be in trouble, so it's up to Marty (and us by extension) to travel back to 1931 Hill Valley to save him, a time of gangsters and prohibition!
