In this JavaScript class, we continue our journey, learning how to Add New Method to Child Class In JavaScript, Learn Intermediate JavaScript Inheritance V, Codecademy. This is based on the classes section of Codecademy's Learn Intermediate JavaScript course. We have been looking at class inheritance and how a child class inherits from a parent class. We have been learning that inheritance is important to help minimize our code, as well as make it more readable. The more child classes we have the more valuable parent classes become. In the previous lesson, we have learned about the keywords that allow us to inherit from a parent class. The main keywords we focused on were "extends" and "super". The word "extends" allows us to inherit the properties and methods of a parent class, while the keyword "super", allows us to pass in values into the constructor of our parent class. Learning how inheritance works in JavaScript is important for any aspiring developer and will help in becoming a master programmer. Make sure to practice implementing child and parent classes to fully understand how inheritance works.
