Advanced Helicopter Tutorial - Get out/in of Hanger / Fly / Tricks - ArmA2 & DayZ
33Since 99% of ArmA2 / DayZ players have serious issues piloting a helicopter in the game, i decided to make new version of my previous heli tutorial, this time explaining bit more in detail of what im doing and how to do some tricks with heli.
Showing you the following:
- Which controls to use for best performance and precision.
- How to get helicopter out of hangar without breaking it.
- How to circle around area / object (patrolling / spotter for ground forces)
- Precision flying
- U-Turn + Instant stopping
- Instant stopping (no auto hover)
- Precision landing on the roof
- Tricks - Barrel Roll and Back flip
- Reverse park heli back into hangar.
I strongly recommend dropping the keyboard controls if you want to really want to be a good pilot. I have seen some people use mouse for smooth movements, but mouse has only 2-axis, while my controller has 6-axis, which is superior in every way.
2-axis can only do bank/turn left/right + nose up/down and that's it, leaving you with keyboard thrust + rudder pedals, meaning you can never maintain as smooth flight as i can with controller.
However Joystick is the best choice for helicopter and planes and a best setup would be to have joystick right next to mouse so as soon as you get into helicopter/plane you switch your hand from mouse to joystick with ease.
