Adventure Island 1, 2 and 3!
If you think this looks like Wonder Boy, that's because it was basically Wonder Boy but when ported Wonderboy to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) the developer didn't have the rights to use the Wonder Boy name after signing over the name and character to Sega, so for the port they called it Adventure Island.. and it broke off with it's own series, separate to the Wonder Boy series (which continued with it's own series and a shift to an action RPG style)
