AetherSX2 - PS2 - Vulkan VS OpenGL - 2X
Testing performance for AetherSX2 emulation across Vulkan, Open GL. The chip was turned to the highest scaling possible considered playable. 2X Scaling (Captured on a Poco F3 with a Snapdragon 870). Vulkan causes glitching in a couple games so far but most run stable.
Make sure to adjust your "Internal Resolution" accordingly to your chip. OpenGL seems smoother compared to Vulkan here so personally would recommend using that (no graphical glitches like Vulkan either) and the following settings below:
Enable Frame Limit - ON
Enable Game Fixes - ON
Expand to Cutout area - ON
Enable Multi-Threaded VU1 - ON
Fast Memory - ON
Enable Affinity Control - ON (depends on the game but most run better on)
OpenGL or Vulkan (Some games run better on Vulkan)
Upscale Multiplier (Adjust depending on your SOC)
Host VSYNC - ON
FXAA Shader - OFF
VSync Queue Size - 2
Preload Textures - ON
Software Rendering Threads - 2-6 Depending on your SOC
