tl;dr: I rubberband'd my controller to afk farm for soul MEMORY. I AM LITERALLY SLEEPING. I will only be here for the beginning and end of the stream. We used bonfire ascetic and it's much faster now. I am doing this so I can save more interesting content for the stream, and also for memes.

Summary of this stream: As has been the goal for a while now, I need 1 million soul memory in order to skip Lord Soul Bosses and get through Shrine of Winter to access infinite repair powder, a seemingly essential resource for this run. After Drangleic Castle, Aldia's Keep opens up and allows infinite bonfire ascetics which can be used to farm Dragonrider for souls (levels and life gems). We workshopped a few ideas to make this afk strat better, but nothing really that notable. While there are other strats that are faster and allow me to keep the souls that I will eventually need, it would still require on stream farming, whereas here I can leave this on while I got to my day job and save more interesting stuff for the regular stream. The strat is like this: my character will automatically walk and either 1.) blow up enemies with old sun ring and get killed later on to reset or 2.) not proc the ring and get killed by an enemy rather will kill me if the ring doesn't proc. Estimated time for completion of this strat is around 11 hours. Ring of Binding is locked up by Ornstein behind red NPC invaders and NG+ Heide's knights (this isn't SOTFS, this is vanilla). It's not impossible to get, but its very costly since I have to use an Effigy to survive their attacks.

Run: Damage can only be done by rings (and environment stuff like gravity). Armor is not allowed until a wall is hit. Save states are encouraged to prevent soft-locking. Miracles, hexes, damaging-items and spells are not allowed. Parrying and blocking is not allowed (just a personal preference).

Q: Why no Tseldora Set/Armor/Shield/Punching???
A: All of those are against the rules, simple as that. They aren't rings.

Farming ideas we've already tried:
-Straid's Cell Explode bois (AFK and active) (Current strat)
-Sinner's Rise Elevator (needs to be checked by Andy, likely fastest active farm, but not fast enough to stop AFK
-Huntsman Copse Bridge
-Brightcove Villagers and Boulder
-Gyrm Knights and Mammoth in Door of Pharros
-Invader in Grave of Saints

Q: Why are you so bad at this game?
A: It's been over 6 years since I played this.

Q: Why did you restart the run?
A: There was a farming technique that (supposedly) allows me to get 1 million souls in about an hour and a half. At the point I was at in the other run, I still would have had to farm for 10+ hours. Farming is required for a multitude of reasons, but primarily to skip through Shrine of Winter with 1mil soul memory.

Q: Has this run been done before?
A: The idea has been done before, but with armor and miracles/spells by Hotspur (link). He is currently working on his video for the run. It has also been done by some other players, but to our knowledge not with the same exact rules

Q: All Bosses?
A: We'll see.

Q: How long do you intend to do this?
A: This is a viewer-selected run powered by donations. It is slated for 15 hours with the option for renewal.

Q: How long did it take the last guy to do this?
A: Over 400 hours :) But he also defeated every enemy at least once.

Q: Level all stats to max?
A: It takes many days to do that, and it's not worth it.

Q: Will this become a video?
A: Maybe. Usually, the video comes out about a year after the stream (each video takes at least 100 hours to make).

Q: Do you stream runs that are not challenge runs?
A: Very, very rarely.
