I've played through all five missions currently available on survivor difficulty, and I can say I have had a blast harvesting the hordes of snowbreed. I'm the type of player that likes to grind, so I immediately began grinding on veteran difficulty for weapon attachments and to complete weapon skin challenges. I'll do my best to praise and critique what I've observed in my nearly 20 hours of gameplay.

The gun play is fun, and I recommend trying the manual reloading over the quick version in survivor difficulty as it is more immersive. Unfortunately it is less viable in the higher difficulties, but I encourage you to give it a go for yourself. I would like to see new weapons added to the game over time, maybe a new shotgun that shoots slugs only or a new smg type with a slower fire rate and higher damage that uses the green ammo type. I'm pretty impressed with the weapon skins in this game, and I will forever be attempting to get the US and Soviet skins for the assault rifles. I do wish they made the wrist rocket device more important, like for stunning/distracting bosses or special snowbreed. They will earn bonus points in my book if they ever let us customize it with skins. At the moment I have not used it at all since killing snowies with it doesn't count for any challenges.

I really like how they designed the special snowbreed because they feel entirely different from each other:

Ravagers are a quick monstrosity that will quickly beat you to death if you let it get close enough.

Eaters are a double-edged sword because while they can harm you if you are too close when they explode, they also kill nearby snowbreed upon their death.

Juggernauts are a slow and tanky enemy that will pick you up and hold you in place when they get close, and they will slowly ready their arm for a one hit KO.

The boss seems to be the same each round, with players needing to shoot designated spots around its body while avoiding its melee attacks. I would like to see a variation of bosses in future updates/DLC that feel as different as the special snowbreed, but it would be fine if they each still had to be shot in designated spots. Right now if you keep moving and avoiding its ram attack, the current boss is fairly easy on survivor and veteran difficulty. Maybe a ranged boss or a faster boss that can be stunned/temporarily distracted could be viable.

All in all, I think this is a pretty fun game that VR players should definitely try out. If you have friends that are decent at VR shooters, then you are in for a good time. If you are a solo grinder like I am, rejoice because there is a private match mode that will fill empty slots with AI teammates. Higher difficulties like master and nightmare will require a group of competent players to complete, so I suggest trying some group runs on veteran difficulty every now and then to find some capable people to add to your friends list.
