Age of Mythology: Clash of the titans (Part 3 of 3)
Okay, hold onto your suspensers and strap yourselves in because we have a clash of the titans here! No cheats, no tricks, no editing.
There are a few restarts here and there and I honestly can't be bothered listing all the times. So apologies on my part.
I haven't checked or confirmed it with sources, but I'm reasonably certain that the titan AI will gather resources at double the standard rate, so it's almost effectively 2 on 1, or one player getting twice as many resources. I don't think it applies to training times or researching technologies though.
That said, I think the only reasonable thing to do if you're not a professional is to wall up and defend. The idea is to continually use units to save resources which allows you to compete with the AI. If you're a pro, perhaps you can raid on the AI early and smack out those villagers and bring their economy closer to yours but my micro isn't that good to do that.
Finally, this map layout was lucky. Minimal places to wall up, plus ineffective god powers from the AI, plus a bit of strategy helped carry me over the line.
The use of Gaia helps immensely. Gaia's forest can help build sections of walls, and I gather from it super quickly, meaning wood isn't an issue. Cheaper economy upgrades help me research them earlier, and Gaia gets me the Automatons and the Mythic Rejuvenation technology. Destroyers are also tanky little ants that will mow down buildings, although I didn't really trade well with them against the Eygptian axemen.
I think this is the 1 in 100 or 1 in 1000 game where I win.
