Klingon's possess overwhelming firepower though are lacking in research and economic ability, this requires a fast, heavy approach in their tactics; conquer and grow to survive. Notably, when the D-7 entered service Starfleet's capital ships offered little challenge except to litter space with their burnt out hulls. If anything I got more of a challenge from the random events in the later game; a Xindi weapon against a conquered asteroid habitat and the Narada.
