AI STORY TIME! "Timmy and the Robot" | Illustrated Flash Fiction by Chat GPT & Midjourney AI
9I've been hearing about Chat GPT a lot more lately. I finally checked it out. It's no surprise that I immediately tried to get it to tell a short story related to a set of images I had generated with Midjourney AI a week prior. I couldn't stop thinkin about the story behind the images. Chat GPT closed that gap. With a series of nudges along the way, it was in a state to take to voice modulation and editing, for a quick creative exploration.
As an artist (25+ years), I am very pro AI art, as a tool to be used to manifest creative ideas and inspire imagination. That does NOT mean I agree with the ethical shadiness, at the machine learning stage. I am a strong supporter of artists and have collaborated with them for over a decade, making comics and other creative works, at great personal expense, because I believe artists will always have a place as imagination pioneers. They will not be replaced.
Both can be in harmony. I have never been more creatively inspired to create art and story as I have in the last 6 months. I hope a reasonable and fair solution comes to pass. Many will absolutely lose their jobs in the near future. Adapt and evolve; don't lose hope. In the meanwhile... I'll keep using these new AI tools to inspire my own future works.
