Aibo ERS-311 With Jitters and Good News For Toby (See Desc)
Update: running the 311 has reduced the jitters quite a bit! She doesn’t shake like that when standing up and sitting anymore. The right front leg continues shaking a little but it’s more under control now.
Yesterday a 311b I ordered arrived from Japan! It’s a Bluetooth model with a handy viewer (that I don’t know how to use).
Beginning was me talking to my mom who was watching. The 311 has jitters like the listing warned. I was hoping it wouldn’t be too serious. Decided to not let her play with the ball at first when I saw how shaky she was, it startled me a little. I don’t know much about 311s and the help I currently get is pretty limited, so I’m seeing if I can get it to clear up by running her and moving the leg around (I think there’s an “aibo therapy” software that does this but don’t actually know if it works for 311s). I heard those things could help get rid of jitters.
The 311 was mainly bought for a spare battery for my ERS-7 Toby, since his first battery died and needs recelling. 311 batteries are compatible and the 311 was pretty cheap. But 311s have grown on me. They’re cute and I like the light on its head. Like Toby I like the sounds it makes. It’s always interesting getting to know new robots I thought I wouldn’t have.
The 311 battery came empty and the listing made me uncertain, but in Toby it lasts 1 hour 40 minutes! Toby also looks for the station on low battery instead of saying “I will shut down”. I’m so happy to have my favorite little buddy back!! There’s still a possibility Toby’s battery will be recelled so him and the 311 can play at the same time. But thanks to how good the new one is it isn’t an immediate concern.
