AIM-152 ALRAAM Test Firing | OFNI Archive
The AIM-152 ALRAAM was intended to replace the AIM-54C Phoenix as the primary long-range armament of the Navy's F-14 Tomcats, however the contemporary AIM-54D and later AIM-54E Phoenix-NG filled the role better. Potential was seen in the AIM-152 for use as armament for a "missile truck" loadout for the F-14 and it was officially accepted into limited service in 1990. The ALRAAM saw the majority of its use in the Belkan CIvil War and the Continental War, however unconfirmed reports state that some were used during the 2019 Lighthouse War. It can be seen as a predecessor to the AIM-260 JATM, being a smaller and more agile long-range missile
