A playthrough of Level 6 of the first quest of Air Fortress. Played using FCE Ultra rerecording 0.98.28. This was only to use its "Record AVI" function--this run was played in real-time as it would be on an actual NES. No slowdown or save states were used.

Because the only Let's Play of the game I know of on Youtube actually fails to complete this level (Getting past it via "A big 'fuck you' bomb that dropped out of the cartridge"), I figured it would be good to let people see how the level is actually completed from start to finish. Note that I used the slightly easier US version of the game, although the Japanese version used in the Let's Play is mainly harder in the space shooting segments (Where I died here anyway, so I guess it's a good thing I used this version). My controller was a bit oversensitive is my only excuse.

You'll note that the GameFAQs sources disagree on how to actually get through the Fortress itself--and I don't use either method. Considering that almost everyone who's played the game says that you'll BARELY make it out in time, and I almost manage to get to the ship before the Fortress even enters its blinking phase via a combination of route and firing into walls to propel myself forward, my route and its results speak for themselves.
