If you're looking to activate Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on your AirPods Pro (or the rumored "AirPods 4" if referencing a future model), this guide explains how to do it easily using either your AirPods directly or your connected iPhone or iPad. ANC helps block out surrounding noise, giving you a more immersive listening experience whether you’re on a commute, at work, or just relaxing.

To begin, make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone, iPad, or another supported Apple device. Once connected, the easiest method to enable noise cancellation is by using the AirPods themselves. Simply press and hold the stem (force sensor) on either AirPod until you hear a chime. This sound indicates that Active Noise Cancellation has been successfully activated.

If you prefer to enable ANC through your device, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to access the Control Center (on iPhones with Face ID). Press and hold the volume slider, which should show your connected AirPods. You’ll then see options like 'Noise Cancellation', 'Transparency', and 'Off'. Tap 'Noise Cancellation' to activate it.

Alternatively, you can go into the Settings app. Navigate to 'Bluetooth', find your AirPods in the list, and tap the “i” icon next to their name. This brings you to a dedicated menu for your AirPods, where you can toggle noise control options. Choose 'Noise Cancellation' to turn it on.

Keep in mind, ANC is only available on specific models such as AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd generation) and AirPods Max. If you’re using standard AirPods, this feature won’t be available.
