Adam: Hello and Welcome to Faceoff! Where we pit two things against each other to find out which is better! I’m Adam Ness

Edward: And I’m Edward Rekshon! And today we’re going to be comparing the AK-47 and the M416 from Surviv.io!

OVERVIEW

Adam: Let me tell you about the AK 47.

The AK-47, also called Kalashnikov Model 1947, is a Soviet assault rifle, possibly the most widely used shoulder weapon in the world. The initials AK represent Avtomat Kalashnikova, Russian for “automatic Kalashnikov,” for its designer, Mikhail Kalashnikov, who designed the accepted version of the weapon in 1947.

Edward: Hey Adam? What can you do with a broom the same you can with an AK 47?

Adam: What?

Edward: You can use both to sweep a house!

Adam: *chuckle* Now tell me about the M416

Edward: The Heckler & Koch HK416 is an assault rifle designed and manufactured by the German company Heckler & Koch. Although its design is based on the AR-15 class of firearm, specifically the Colt M4 carbine family issued to the U.S. military, it uses a proprietary short-stroke gas piston system from Heckler & Koch's earlier G36 family of rifles. It is the standard assault rifle of the Norwegian Armed Forces

Adam: Now for the weather! What’s it like out there today Steve?

Steve: Hey It’s Side eye Steve coming at you with the weather. It’s hot. Back to you Adam.

Adam: Thanks Steve! Well Ed, let’s see how these guns stack up!


Edward: Well we did some calculations on how each gun stacked up in these categories given their performance against the best gun for the category. Here’s how the AK and the M4 stacked up.

Adam: The guns tied for Mag size given they both have 30 rounds per mag.

AK: 30 pts: 67
M4: 30 pts: 67

Edward: Reload time though is a different story, with the AK taking 0.2 seconds longer to load. Both fair pretty well for their categories though!

Adam: You wouldn’t want to get caught without a loaded gun out there!

RELOAD TIME

AK: 2.5s pts: 92
M4: 2.3s pts: 100

Adam: As for spread the AK actually pulls ahead on this one with a slightly more accurate spread!

AK: AVG 6.25 pts: 34
M4: AVG 8 pts: 26

Edward: Now for the biggie, damage. We gave a double point value for damage as it’s one of the most critical metrics! The AK on average did about 4 more damage per shot than the M4

Adam: That’s gotta hurt!

AK: AVG 20.25 pts: 77(x2) = 144
M4: AVG 16.5 pts: 63(x2) = 126






Adam: Now Fall off was pretty close but the AK performs slightly better in this category

FALLOFF

AK: 0.9 pts: 96
M4: 0.85 pts: 90

Edward: As for velocity they are also close but this time the M4 pulls ahead!

AK: 100 pts: 91
M4: 105 pts: 95

Adam: The AK takes the cake on range boasting an extra 12.5%

Edward: Now that you mention it, I could go for some cake myself!

Edward: Finally we thought we’d throw in a personal opinion for an extra 50 points to break those close matches. We called local streamer Rez3rekt to see which he would pick up if he had to choose.

Rez3rekt: As for my choice though, I’d have to go with the AK. That extra damage and range really makes a difference when you’re in the thick of things.
