Akazukin ChaCha (Red-Hooded ChaCha) is an RPG that features characters from the manga and anime of the same name. ChaCha is a magician's apprentice learning under the tutelage of Seravy, "the greatest magician in the land", though ChaCha frequently messes up the spells she learns. She is usually joined by her friends her Shiine, a more proficient magician apprenticed to Seravy's unrequited crush Dorothy, and Riiya, a young boy who is able to turn into a white wolf.

Akazukin Chacha is the story of a young magical girl named Chacha. She lives in a cottage on Mochi-mochi Mountain with Seravy, her guardian and her teacher, who is the fictional world's greatest magician. Chacha is clumsy in casting her spells, frequently mistaking homonyms, she summons spiders (kumo "蜘蛛?" in Japanese) instead of a cloud (also kumo "雲?"). When she and her friends are in trouble, however, her spells do work. Living on the same mountain is a boy named Riiya, gifted with enormous strength, who comes from a family of werewolves. Far away from Mochi-mochi Mountain is Urizuri Mountain where Dorothy, a well known magician, lives in a castle with her student dela Shiine. Shiine is a young wizard, who is adept at casting spells and barriers, as well as transformations.

Through fantasy–the game sees the trio of youngsters move around the world talking to characters from the anime and uncovering a mystical plot that threatens the kingdom. In combat, the two mages largely rely on their many spells, while Riiya can turn into his wolf form for heightened physical damage.
