0This game is a action-adventure horror game about a famous Writer named Alan Wake who is a bestselling American novelist but hasn't written anything else for the past 2 years, Alan and his wife Alice go on vacation to a small Northwest Town called Bright Falls when they arrive they get a key to Bird Leg Cabin by a strange woman telling them they will enjoy there stay, when they arrive the cabin looks pretty normal and quiet but when night falls things start to change into a nightmare Alice is taken by a dark force deep in Cauldron Lake presumably drowned Alan goes in after her but blacks out once he enters the water next thing he knows he's waking up from a car crash miles away from Cauldron Lake and wondering why he was in a car crash in the first place but he knew he needed to find help so he headed to a gas station to see if the phone worked while walking there Alan is attack by shadowy human figures called The Taken hell bent on killing him they are invincible until Alan flashed his light on them making them solid allowing him to shoot them along the way he finds pages of a Manuscript that he doesn't remember writing talking about events that have happened as well as events that will happen in the future once he gets to the gas station he calls the sheriff who is called Sarah Breaker and tells her what he can remember before he blacked out Sarah then tells him he and his wife hadn't been seen for over a week since they arrived Alan then tells Sarah to take him to the Cabin on Cauldron Lake but when they arrive the cabin is gone Sarah says the cabin was destroyed a long time ago by a earthquake, Sarah takes Alan to the police station where he is being questioned about his wife's disappearance but then his best friend and manager Barry Wheeler gets him out of their before he can say more and they drive to a cabin Barry rented along the way Alan tells him what happened and they work together to figure out what is going on in the town during the day the town is normal but once it hits night time everything changes from bad to worse a dark presence hovers over the town turning people into Taken and destroying the town it won't rest until it has Alan, will he be able to solve the mystery that happened to him in that missing week, will he be able to save the town from total annihilation, and will he be able to save his wife from the dark presence before it is too late or will he just become a pawn to the dark presence plan to enslaving and destroying everything.
