Alan Wake: Remastered (Xbox Series X) (Xclusive Playthrough - Part 27) Trek Through the Sleepy Town

Alan Wake: Remastered is a third-person, action-adventure game with the spirit of a psychological thriller where you control a man named Alan Wake who is actually a bestselling crime fiction author suffering from a two-year stretch of writer's block. After meeting with his agent, he decides to travel to the town of Bright Falls with his wife Alice to essentially clear his head and try to get his creative juices flowing again. Just before their arrival to the quiet mountain town, Alan has a nightmare about shadowy figures that attempt to kill him, however, with the help of an ethereal figure he learns how to fend them off using the power of light. Soon after, his nightmare turns to reality and his wife mysteriously disappears. In an attempt to find out what has happened to his wife Alan begins to search all over town and comes across pages of a thriller that he doesn't even remember writing. On top of the strange pages, Alan begins to notice that the town is becoming more sinister by the minute as a malevolent dark presence begins possessing the townspeople and taunting Alan in the process. Alan's mind is put to the ultimate test as he is driven to the brink of sanity as he tries to unravel the deepening mystery and find his missing wife.
This game is actually described by the devs as "having the mind of a psychological thriller and the body of a cinematic action game" because, in their eyes, the game doesn't fall directly into either category, but rather a mixture of the two. The player directly controls Alan and has to fight off the "darkness" that has overtaken the people of Bright Falls (which are called Taken). The Taken can be described as murderous shadows that are as dangerous as they are cunning. They are able to wield weapons of their own (such as knives and even chainsaws) and will do whatever it takes to try and kill Alan. Objects that emit light such as flashlights and flares are the primary tools that Alan has at his disposal as the Taken have to be weakened by a light source before they can be finished off with a conventional weapon (such as a gun, a grenade or even a car). Light sources such as streetlights provide a safe haven from the Taken and regenerate Alan's health at a faster rate. This game also happens to include a bunch of different collectibles such as coffee thermoses, TV shows, and even pages of a manuscript (some of which will enlighten the player on certain aspects of the story or even provide a background on the lore of the town and its people).
Finally, the achievements in this game are quite varied. The game includes a total of 67 achievements which equate to 1500 GS (as the Remastered version includes DLCs). There are quite a few story related achievements while the rest revolve around collectibles, performing certain actions, killing Taken with various weapons a certain number of times and even a few miscellaneous ones. I will try to get as many as I can throughout my playthrough and will cleanup whichever ones I need to once I play through the game. Thankfully the game does feature a chapter select option so mopping up any remaining achievements will not be too difficult.
