Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance (Xbox Series X) (Bro-Op Gaming - Part 13) The Chef's Feast
Check out part 13 of my Xclusive Playthrough featuring the game Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance! This game released on the Xbox One and Xbox Series family of consoles on June 22nd, 2021 and is currently available to play through Xbox Game Pass. It was developed by Tuque Games and published by Wizards of the Coast.
In this video, Catti-Brie finally arrives inside Annuragon's Forge & takes down the high ranking Verbeeg known as the Chef.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is a third-person, action role-playing game (RPG) that is based on the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing system and features characters from the novel series "The Legend of Drizzt". The game can be played both solo or in co-op multiplayer (with up to 4 players) and the player has the option to choose one of four characters: Drizzt Do'Urden (the Drow outcast who is this game's rogue class), Bruenor Battlehammer (the Dwarven king who is this game's tank class), Catti-brie (the adopted daughter of Bruenor who is this game's ranger class), and Wulfgar (the recently crowned king of the Reghed Barbarians who is this game's warrior class). In terms of the plot/story: this game is set after the 1988 novel "The Crystal Shard" and takes place in the Icewind Dale region of Faerun. The game follows the heroes across various locations around Icewind Dale as they drive back the evil armies made up of goblins, frost giants and even dragons. The heroes failed to secure the ancient and powerful Crystal Shard (known as Crenshinibon, which was forged from the magic of seven liches) from a greedy mage known as Akar Kessell, and now, both they and the evil armies are vying to find it so they can acquire its immense power for themselves. It's up to Drizzt and his companions to traverse the various locales around Icewind Dale, defeat the legions of monsters that are searching for the Crystal Shard and finally safeguard it from evil.
As I mentioned before, each of the 4 characters has a very different playstyle and the game covers most of the class types that people are used to in RPG games (the only other major class that was missing was a mage/warlock type, however, given the game's inspiration it makes sense). The game is fully playable in single-player (where the player has the option to swap between the different characters), however, it's best played with 3 other friends so that each player can take control of each of the 4 characters as they really complement each other. The game features a camp that acts as a hub to equip your character with different gear (which can be upgraded through the merchant), includes target dummies to test your hero's power and features a world map table which can be used to select the levels that you want to play through. As you can tell from the previous statement, the game is mission based and, even though you have to play through all of the previous missions to unlock the next missions, you are always able to go back and play through any of the previous played missions. Each area/episode features three acts (three missions) and tells its own story usually related to a specific event or evil faction.
Finally, the achievements in this game are quite varied. The game includes a total of 48 achievements for a total of 1000 GS. The list contains a mixture of story related achievements, character specific achievements, combat specific achievements, gear specific achievements and a few achievements revolving around co-op play. As usual, I will try to get as many as I can throughout my playthrough and will most likely cleanup any leftover achievements. Thankfully, since the game is level-based mopping up any remaining achievements will not be too difficult.
