I have been living up here for several years and I have yet to catch one of these Sheefish. I keep hearing about them but no luck for me. I don't know if it was just my turn to experience it or what but I caught on. It was an awesome hook and I tried to easy the fish in because I'am using lighter gear. A Fennwick Med-Lit, 8 lbs. test and a weighed jig head and a mountain dew colored plastic grub.
The first thing that I noticed about the fish was its mouth. Super smooth and no teeth and the had fairly decent sized scales.
The second fish I caught was similar in length but seemed to me to be much bigger around and had a bigger head on it. I caught both on the same set up and on the same creek but not the same spot. I hope to catch some more and if not I think these two are pretty memorable.
