Alfonso Herrera discusses his journey, career and the final season of the Emmy-nominated drama series Ozark. The series follows Marty Byrde, a financial advisor wrapped up in a money laundering scheme. When the scheme goes wrong, Marty relocates his family from Chicago to Missouri, where he must work to make amends to a Mexican drug cartel, setting up a larger operation in the Ozarks.

Alfonso stars as ‘Javi Elizonndro,’ a previously unseen member of the Navarro family who walks a fine line between being the obedient lieutenant and scheming to take over his uncle’s cartel. As the newest series regular, Herrara joins Emmy Award winner Jason Bateman, Emmy Award winner Laura Linney, Emmy Award winner Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, and Skylar Gaertner in the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite series.

Alfonso Herrera is one of the most recognizable Latin American talents and he is known for playing memorable characters that challenge him creatively and transcend beyond the screen. He began his career in Mexican telenovelas including Clase 406 and global sensation Rebelde, which brought him international acclaim. Alfonso has also starred in multiple shows such as Netflix’s Sense8, FOX’s The Exorcist, and USA Network’s Queen of the South. On the film side, Herrera recently appeared in The Dance of the 41, where he won an Ariel Award for Best Male Actor, an award granted by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Sciences and Arts. Herrera also played the lead role in the political satire The Perfect Dictatorship and appeared in The Chosen, Amar te duele and many others films. Additionally, Alfonso's support of social causes has led him to be appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the UN’s refugee agency. He is the first Mexican to join the list of ambassadors which includes Cate Blanchett and Ben Stiller, among others.
