1My review of the 2021 twin stick shooter, "Alien Death Mob".
You know one of the things that's hard for me about reviewing games, is I get distracted easily. Sometimes just sounds are enough to knock me off a gaming session. The sound of police sirens, dogs barking, my door being kicked down by said law enforcement officials... you know standard stuff. So when a game comes along and effectively grabs you by the throat and yells at you repeatedly to pay attention, I have to be honest, its kinda refreshing. Such a game is Alien Death Mob, by our friends at Pug Fugly Games. Released on the 20th May 2021 and currently priced at £1.69, Alien Death Mob is what would happen if red bull, MTV and trance track had a baby inside of a retro arcade machine. A twin stick shooter by design, that applies those mechanics to a number of other retro gaming genres, crammed to the brim with levels and missions, that gave me an experience unlike anything I've played in recent times. And well, for some people that description might sound like its a bombastic and unrelenting assault on the senses,and well...yes...yes it is. So let's talk about it before I have my sugar crash and the authorities track me down once more. This is my review of 2021's Alien Death Mob.
"The game's synopsis reads: "Aliens have invaded Earth! Towns, cities, deserts, they're everywhere! Take on the role of Earth's last super soldier and confront the alien menace in this intense twin stick shooter! OMG everybody, aliens have invaded Earth! Towns, cities, deserts, they're everywhere. They're even at the Eiffel Tower if you can believe that! Somehow, as usual, Earth only has one person left capable of taking them on. Some kind of super soldier I suppose. An intense twin stick shooter, blast your way around the world taking on countless hordes of enemies. Use bullet time to get out of sticky situations. Collect the power ups, but don't forget to keep an eye on your multiplier to get those massive scores!"
