A playthrough of the 2013 game by Sinclair Strange, initially released online as a free Flash game, but also included with Jet Gunner on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/314250/Jet_Gunner/

A solid little run-and-gun clearly evoking many NES classics, and the first of several games by the dev that'd iterate upon the same concept.
