Alien vs. Predator (arcade) - P.Warrior playthrough
Done on default settings (difficulty 4/8, 1 life start/2 life continue, extra life at 100000 only). Reached the Alien Queen on 1st credit, continued one time. Played as Predator Warrior. Looking forward to getting a 1CC soon. The spear dive is one move which the Alien Queen has trouble countering in the final battle. The three Power loaders in stage 7 are a bit tougher than the one seen in stage 5's boss fight.
Alien vs. Predator is one of Capcom's best beat-em-ups, which sadly hasn't been brought to console. You can pick one of two Predators- the Hunter or the Warrior, Maj. Dutch Schaefer, or Linn Kurosawa. Each has certain special moves, & attacks that can hit grounded enemies. As good as Streets of Rage 2 & 3's combo systems are, Capcom has outdone them here.
A version was planned for Sega 32X, but this never showed up. While in the same genre, the SNES Alien vs. Predator is a different game by another developer. It was released in September 1993, half a year ahead of Capcom's arcade title, & is not nearly as good.
AvP & Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force were a major part of Tetsuhiko "Han" Kikuchi's inspiration for Treasure's Saturn game Guardian Heroes.
