Let's clarify that Aliens: Dark Descent has no relation to Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It stands on its own as a real-time squad-based tactical action game. Developed by Tindalos Interactive, a Paris-based studio known for their work on the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada games, Dark Descent presents players with the challenge of controlling and upgrading a squad of Colonial Marines in the midst of a perilous situation - much like the intense scenes portrayed in the iconic Alien movies.
The action takes place on a moon called Lethe, though the Steam listing may refer to it as a planet - technicalities aside, I won't delve into the lore. Regardless, the plot involves the marines crash-landing from the USS Otago and facing a dire predicament as the notorious and phallic xenomorphs overrun the area, leading to an inevitable struggle for survival.
