Alienware R11 3080 Thermal Pads and Paste Drop VRAM Temps 30C
1,079My first attempt at changing thermal pads on my 3080 were not succesful if you have seen my video from a week ago. The second go around I applied thermal paste around the side with the heat pipes, and literally didn't add or change any pads other than what I did in that first video which is linked below. On the Dell/Alienware cards the thermal paste is the most beneficial, as these cards already come with thermal pads, good pads, that look and perform almost as good as the aftermarket ones we added. There is no thermal paste between the metal to metal contact by the heat pipes and cooling fins and that is where I was able to drop my memory temps on average 30C.
