In Chapter VIII, A Sea of Promises, Amicia, Hugo, Arnaud, and Sophia finally set foot on the shores of La Cuna, a beautiful yet enigmatic island that feels almost like a paradise. The scenery is a stark contrast to the horrors we’ve faced, but something about it seems… off. The people here are welcoming, and Hugo feels an almost magical connection to the place, claiming it’s exactly as he saw in his dreams.
We’re introduced to the island’s unique culture, with its worship of the Child of Embers—a mysterious deity the locals believe in, linked to the sun and light. Chapter IX, Tales and Revelations, takes us deeper into La Cuna’s mysteries. The island’s winding paths lead us to a breathtaking sanctuary built into the cliffs, hidden beneath a canopy of vibrant greenery. As we navigate through the sanctuary, we uncover more about the legend of the Child of Embers and the island’s past, which is shrouded in both beauty and darkness.
The chapter’s highlight comes when we find ourselves in an ancient throne room within the sanctuary. A grand stone throne sits in the center, surrounded by cryptic carvings and symbols that seem strangely familiar. Hugo is drawn to the throne, feeling a powerful connection to it. Could this be the place from his dreams? And if so, what does it mean for his illness and the Macula?
The atmosphere is tense as Amicia and Hugo try to piece together the truth behind the island’s legends, but questions are only piling up. Why does Hugo feel so connected to this place? What is the true nature of the Child of Embers? And most importantly, could this sanctuary really hold the answers they’ve been searching for?
