I used to think that I had to wait before I could make art. Like I had to finish doing stuff like school and work to earn the privilege of working on my own personal interests like art. Almost a decade into making art casually, I've found that I haven't improved because I always put it aside to do things I assumed got in the way of making art. I'm starting to realized that nothing actually got in the way of me developing my own artistic skills, except for me putting my personal interests aside. I think I got in my own way and I missed my opportunity to become an artist.
