Almost My Floor - Full Playthrough & Ending Variants
83A full playthrough of Almost My Floor, a point-and-click adventure game set in a creepy apartment building that has the player control Alex, one of the tenants freaking out over the weird (and potentially deadly) stuff he's seeing, and Adam, a detective hired to find Alex's missing ex-girlfriend. This includes the small amount of variants for the bad ending, although the game largely has little deviation from the set path.
The game is pretty short and a good bit easy, serving more as an introduction to point-and-click adventure games than truly challenging the player. There are a few QTE events where you must stop a cursor on the green portion of a bar to survive. There aren't many items per area and things combine automatically, plus there's usually two ways to solve the puzzle in one area (the violent route being quicker but leading towards the bad ending). The cutscene art and atmosphere are the game's strong points and are well-done.
Story-wise, I'm still a bit confused by the villain's motivations for acting as he did (even when it's extremely obvious he is involved from the get-go). The game seems to end a bit abruptly and jump to a two years later epilogue to resolve things, but some things feel less built up for those conclusions. You also can't get "stuck" (such as calling Freudgele ahead of time ensuring his lab door is closed) as you'll get the same outcome but through different means (I personally thought that might lead to a worse ending before trying it). So there's not a huge amount of replayability as the bad/good ending is just in regards to Alex's fate.
Overall, it's not a terrible game and could serve as a good introduction to the adventure game genre if one wants an easier game to get their feet wet. Probably a 6/10 game (so average to above average) unless you are definitely fond of adventure games.
