Can We Learn to Swim in Super Mega Cursed Room Randomizer? (Now with 51% More Curses!)
339Continuing with super duper mega cursed Room Randomizer (once the PvP tournament concludes), where things are going swimmingly well despite not knowing how to swim yet. We've managed to have some very good fortune in finding lifeblood charms with low notch costs (including Lifeblood Core for 0 notches!) that has made having one mask less of a problem. The run seems surprisingly doable now.
We've likewise have found all our nail swings, right dash, double jump, acid resistance, and the tram pass. Howling Wraiths is the only spell we have and we've found Great Slash and Dash Slash. We have found Focus but can't use it with one real mask. Unfortunately, Nailmaster's Glory costs four notches to wear this run.
Now comes the fun part of checking notes and our map to see what transitions we've missed and whether we can find more movement upgrades to continue progressing.
Room Randomizer makes most screen transitions send you to completely different rooms than usual. Entering Salubra's house may lead to the Path of Pain, for instance. It becomes significantly harder to keep track of where to go and finding upgrades.
This update to randomizer adds Cursed Masks (start with one mask, the four extra starter masks becomes 16 new mask shards - these new shards are removed and replaced with 1 geo in the Cursed setting), Cursed Notches (start with 1 notch and charm costs are randomized between 0-6 notches), and needing to find Swim as a separate ability. This is in addition to starting only with downswing and having to find the up/right/left nail swings plus finding left/right mothwing cloak and mantis claw.
The Cursed setting removes most unnecessary items (relics, rancid eggs, etc.) and replaces it with 1 geo. Level 2 spells and pale ore are gone too so things become a good bit harder. As well, the Focus ability is another item to find and until it's found you can only heal at benches. Additionally, directional nail swings, directional dash, and directional wall climb must be found individually and you only begin with down pogoing.
Super Junk Pit randomization for items mixes up virtually everything - whispering root rewards, grubs, stagways, maps, and upgrades can be found at any item spot. This now includes lore tablets.
