Here's a demonstration of some Hovering and the Exploration Glitch, using the methods that I stumbled across while experimenting with a turbo controller on the SNES ages ago. We'll be walking across a pit, transitioning screens in ways that were never intended, and even reaching the ending sequence without fighting a single boss!

(Note that using turbo is generally disallowed in races and non-TAS speedruns. Although some runners are able to hover without using turbo, which IS allowed at least in Randomizer races, I only have a vague idea of how to even attempt it, so don't expect any advice for that in this video. Actually pulling it off requires releasing the A button at least once per 30 frames (relatively simple), but never leaving it unpressed for longer than a single frame at a time (much more difficult), and furthermore sustaining that for several seconds at minimum in order to actually get anywhere with it. I think most runners who can do it basically run their fingers back and forth across the button very quickly. You can try here for more information and uses: http://alttp.mymm1.com/wiki/Hover)

Timestamps and a link to a wiki page detailing the EG (including a full underworld map) are below.

Also, a few things I forgot to mention in the video:

New microphone! Yay! I was previously using a cheap one I got mostly for looks to go with a Junko cosplay I'm still not quite finished. The new one is a Yeti Nano with better sound quality, better gain without picking up too much background noise, and a USB connection that avoids some issues I was having with the cable.

I mentioned the line-of-sight projectiles guards, etc. shoot out, but didn't quite get as far as noting that they work by making the enemies react to "seeing" Link when one of these normally-invisible projectiles hits him. Another oddity of these projectiles is that they're NOT entirely insubstantial--if you're unlucky, they can actually block things like arrows or the boomerang or hookshot. So if one of these malfunctions around an enemy with line-of-sight reactions, that's why.

It's not quite true that all indoor locations are on the same big map, either. A number of non-dungeon areas, including Link's House, are on another, smaller map. If you go out of bounds in one of these rooms, they only connect to each other, and more importantly, trying to leave the valid map area will lock up the game. Be careful if trying it.
