Warriors don’t deal in if’s or what’s or contemplate on the past or future, only the present. Preparation for scenarios and using your abilities to the most you can whilst maintaining the form like water, producing yourself as you need to be and nothing more.
I stood, training in the wake of tragedy.
The air was so humid, the world so full of buzz. The dirt spread under my shoes, the water seemed to drip from a waterfall so slowly, and the darkness swept it away in an instance.
Focus is a funny thing, it feels like the most powerful force a human can conjure. Absolution of control to do what we aspire to achieve in that moment is without a doubt addicting to many. It isn’t without its flaws though. Between the lines of light and dark lies the answers we always seek.
Answers we do not like. Answers we do not want. Truths we cannot escape.
As I trained, and the world fluttered from darkness and light, I reminded myself not to forget. All the effort I put in is never wasted unless I waste it. A loss while in focus feels like a lack of commitment or that our power is gone. The journey to ascend truly does lay down that path however. As did the one before me, with my betrayer caged between my lines.
