Check out this gameplay video for Amagon, a weird sidescroller shooter for the NES. In this Amagon gameplay video we play through the first stage and kind of enjoy it. Amagon is fun, but it comes from the Contra school of game design, where you really need to memorize the level to get through it.

In the thumbnail I made you can see the two different box arts for Amagon, on the left the one from the USA, on the right, the Japan one. Which is better? The USA Amagon art has a weird naked man exploding out of a ginger kids back. The Japanese box art for Amagon showcase some sort of block monster man punching the sky while a hippo yawns next to him. So yeah, which is the best Amagon art? No man can say.

Amagon is a hard, but fun side scrolling shooter for the Nintendo, it reminded us of Contra, except there were no weapon upgrades we could find. And did we say Amagon is hard? It's hard.
