Amazon Music: How To Download Your Music Locally Using The Web Player

In today's video we will be demonstrating how to download your music locally to a computer from Amazon Music.
This video is helpful if you’ve purchased music from this service, but prefer to use another audio player or transfer your music between devices.
If you're watching this video there is a chance that you've downloaded your music from the Amazon Music App just to find the music doesn't actually appear in your device files.
Of course, the music is downloaded for offline play, but can only be found in the Amazon music app.
In my opinion, this is Amazon's deceptive way of keeping you in their ecosystem.
However, there is a solution that allows you to download your music so you can use it between other devices and audio player apps.

All things said… Let's go ahead… And get into it!
How To:
So in order to download your music locally, you’ll need a computer.
For reference I’m using a Google Pixelbook Go, a Chromebook, with the Chrome Browser.
Interesting note: I did attempt to perform all the steps you are about to see on a Android Device with Chrome Browser.
Although the steps look identical, a download option was not provided on the final page on an Android device which is why we have to use the computer method.
Our first step is to go to Amazon.com and sign into your account.
Once signed in you’ll hover over Accounts and Lists until the drop down menu appears.
Under Your Account we’ll then look for Music Library but don’t click on it yet.
If you are working on a device that has the Amazon Music app installed, clicking on this menu option may open the Amazon Music app, which we want to avoid.
We can work around this by right clicking Music Library, which opens a pop up menu and then select Open In New Tab.
This opens the Web Version of the Amazon Music app where we can download our music locally.
There may be a page that asks if you want to sign up for Amazon Music Unlimited. Simply click the “X” to close it.
Next, we’ll look for the headphone icon with Library next to it in the top navigation bar and click on it.
This opens a drop down menu where we can select music which will refresh the page.
Within the Library section we’ll want to search for Purchased and click on it which will refresh the page again.
Here we can download our music directly to our computer for use in other music players or transfer across devices.
Simply look for the song you wish to download and tap on the three dots to the far right.
A drop down menu will appear and we’ll look for the Download option and click on it.
You may get the pop up notification that states “Get Our App”.
Instead, you want to tap on the “Download Songs Here” option.
A window should open that allows you to rename the music file and save it to a system folder.
Simply click Save.
Once the music file is downloaded you can use it in another music player app or transfer it to another device.
The only problem I’ve noticed with this method is, at the making of this video, songs can only be downloaded one at a time.
If you are having any problems downloading any of your music with this method, you’ll want to go into settings and check your managed devices.
There, you can deauthorize devices if you have too many listed, which should allow you to download your music.
