This snakes background: This snake is an Amazon Tree Boa (Corallus hortulanus) and you could call it a yellow/orange phase if you want. I ordered this snake online and although it was not listed as such I believe she was WC. I named her Rye after the Guns N' Roses song Catcher in the Rye. I got Rye back in 2007 and when she arrived she was in very bad condition. She was extremely aggressive and had been left to shed I can only assume in really dry conditions and her skin had built up a few layers of shed on top of one another. I started giving her warm baths and that didn't help so I used a small plastic container and filled it up with warm water and soaked a towel in it to the point that the towel could not absorb any more water and the water level was just lower than the towel so she could sit in this tub over night with very high humidity. After a few weeks she managed to get all that bad shed off and looked stunning. I worked with her for a few years and she did have days when she trusted me and would be nice but she was always a snake that kept me on edge, absolutely stunning and I am so glad I managed to help get her back on track to enjoying life. This video is from my old youtube page but I just wanted to share her with you all.
