Amazon Web Services(AWS) Learning and Teaching Options
Amazon Web Services(AWS) is like having your own data center. It allows for a wide range of learning and the skills you can get are in high demand.
In this video, I explore the different account types available to those in education and some of the pros and cons of them.
https://aws.amazon.com/free/ - The Normal AWS account requires a credit card and is not the best choice for educational institutions. It does, however, have the most flexibility.
https://aws.amazon.com/education/awseducate/ - Needs the educational institution to apply and there is some validation needed to make sure people are students. I use this in my web design, as 1 of the hosting options, and many of my Information Technology Classes. This gives much of the AWS free account options, but others are removed.
https://aws.amazon.com/training/awsacademy/ - Needs an educational institution and a specific class. This is more of a lab environment and it creates a mini-restricted environment each time it is used. This is great for learning, but things only stay around for a short time.
