New World is a new buy to play game from Amazon Game Studios, MMO, survival, sandbox, crafting, building and with large scale pvp battles. The game is built on Amazon Lumberyard and It uses Amazon’s cloud technology as a kind of backbone. They started with 500 players and aim to increase that number to 10 000 players. New World is set in a mysterious, supernatural continent at the end of the 17th century and is in fact, an MMORPG – one with progression, specialisations and huge scale player-versus-player battles between guilds, as you fight to claim land. All those front-loaded survival elements of hunger, thirst, and crafting are smaller aspects of a much larger overall game. The game shares a lot of features with survival and crafting, but then there's a lot to do that's more than just surviving. Probably the most important aspect is the social systems. Players are able to organize themselves, create groups, create companies, and easily communicate with each other. New World is best described as a sandbox MMO. It's about taking your lowly, level one toon, and developing them through the adventures you go on and the trials you face. Instead of following quest chains and a dramatic narrative, though, the story is yours to create through all the systems that are built into the game.

Guilds will have leaders who can set permissions for members, and as a group they can claim and develop specific plots of land with walls, crafting stations, storage buildings, farms, and other infrastructure. Food and water aren't necessary to live, but they are necessary to fight well, because they boost health and stamina. The best food, which can only be prepared by a skilled player chef, imbues buffs that I'm told can decide the outcome of a PvP battle. The best weapons and gear must also be crafted, and the best crafting stations will only be available in player-run settlements. The best materials, meanwhile, will require group expeditions into dangerous territories. In other words: work together, and you can become powerful, both as an individual and a guild.
As player-versus-player combat is such a big focus of New World, it was important for the team to nail the feel of battle. Swinging your weapon or firing your bow feels very deliberate, with weight and impact to each attack. There’s dodging, rolling, jump attacks and more at your disposal, eben special attacks that deal more damage, but leave you vulnerable. Melee combat involves you left-clicking to swing your weapon while right-clicking will allow you to block. There are 2 special attacks - one specific to your weapon type, and another guard-breaking attack, which both are big, unbreakable animations. There are also ranged weapons like Bows and Muskets. These operate by holding right-mouse button to aim and left-clicking to fire. It's a skill-based game, with real player collision, and that means that something like your shield is like a real collision surface. So, multiple players with multiple shields can form a shield wall. That's a real thing, so it's not just a buff, it's a very physical style of combat. Choices like that make it much more real, and much more physical when players actually play the game.
MONETIZATION
Asked how they are going to monetize the game devs replied - "We're going to monetise as just premium—so straight up you pay a flat rate, come in and join the game, it's a live service. As it expands, you're in that community. We are going to have microtransactions in the game, but no loot boxes, no pay-to-win, it's all just like additional vanity content." I dislike games as services as they are abused almost always and instead of new content devs will have to spend time on shit that sells, but maybe amazon is different.
