My prompt for today was to focus on giving a feeling of being in a dusty / desert environment.
I needed to tile blended stylized textures at different speeds on alpha cards. I needed these alpha cards to fade at the edges. I also needed the cards to fade out when near scene geometry to avoid clipping into the meshes in the scene. I used a VFX Shadergraph for this.
I used some simple hard-edge particles for the bokeh effect and soft-edge particles for the dust, with turbulence.
I also have a card on the floor panning two textures as well to give the sense of dust moving along the floor.
In the video, I start the system, let it run for a bit, then discontinue spawning new particles.
