Comparison of FSR 1080p Quality and FSR 1440p Performance renderings with native 720p rendering to demonstrate the benefit of increasing the 1280x720 definition rendering to 2560x1440 thanks to FSR 1.0, especially for GPUs or IGPs that have difficulties with native rendering 1080p.

DISCUSSION / Discution
With the release of APUs (Picasso, Renoir, Lucienne and Cezanne) and mid-range and low-end GPUs and the release of laptops and Steam deck-type consoles, it becomes interesting to take into consideration that the FSR technology offered by AMD Allows these graphics devices (generally limited to 720p) to properly display (30fps to 60fps) resolutions of 1080p or 1440p. In addition, as most of these graphics devices are integrated in portable or even ultra-portable devices, it is interesting to use this technology to reduce power consumption (see my previous videos which test the consumption of the RX6800xt and the GTX1070 according to FSR modes).

Avec la sortie des APU (Picasso, Renoir, Lucienne et Cezanne) et des GPU milieu et bas de gamme et la sortie des PC portable et des consoles du type Steam deck, cela devient intéressant de prendre en considération que la technologie FSR proposée par AMD permet à ces appareillages graphiques (généralement limité à du 720p) d'afficher convenablement (30fps à 60fps) des résolutions de 1080p ou 1440p. De plus, comme la plupart de ces appareillages graphiques sont intégrés dans des appareils portables voir ultra-portables, il est intéressant d'utiliser cette technologie pour réduire la consommation électrique (voir mes précédentes vidéos qui testent la consommation de la RX6800xt et de la GTX1070 selon les modes FSR).

LIMITATIONS / Limites du test
This video was designed to be viewed on a 3840x2160 resolution screen with a resolution greater than 140ppp. The sequences captured in 720p, 1080p, 1440p were enlarged to 2160p, without antialiasing, to increase the size of the pixels, in order to compare the quality of the renderings of the different resolutions. So if the video is watched at a resolution of 1280x720p, then footage captured at 720p will be full resolution, but footage captured at higher definitions will lose resolution and some detail will no longer be visible.
The video was encoded with the AMD H265 in UHD 2160p 60fps. It was uploaded to YouTube at 2160p to enable streaming in UHD, QHD, FHD, HD. / Cette vidéo a été conçue pour être visionnée sur un écran d'une définition de 3840x2160 avec une résolution supérieure à 140ppp. Les séquences capturées en 720p, 1080p, 1440p ont été agrandies en 2160p, sans antialiasing, pour augmenter la taille des pixels, afin de comparer la qualité des rendus des différentes résolutions. Donc si la vidéo est regardée avec une définition de 1280x720p, alors les séquences capturées en 720p seront en pleine résolution, mais les séquences capturées avec des définitions plus élevées perdront en résolution et certains détails ne seront plus visibles.
La vidéo a été encodée avec l'AMD H265 en UHD 2160p 60fps. Il a été téléchargé sur YouTube à 2160p pour permettre la diffusion en UHD, QHD, FHD, HD.
